  • Better than expected but not perfect

I replaced my 2005 Chrysler T&C Limited with a Pacifica Hybrid Limited. With the federal and Colorado tax credits and the mfg. and dealer discounts the car only costs me a total of 310 per month on a 36 month lease. With gas savings its even better. So to be honest the purchase was mostly financial. However the vehicle is much better than I anticipated. The electric only performance is excellent. The car weighs 600 lbs more than my old T&C but actually feels lighter, more responsive, and quicker. A delight to drive. The car is very quiet but road noise and ride quality are similar to my old T&C. Handling and acceleration are much better. Its impressive that they were able to improve the handling while not degrading the ride quality. A Level 2 charger is a must though (17+ hours vs. 2.5 hours to charge). So you need to install 240 volt service in your garage. The Seats are a little to firm. The lack of Stow-N-Go 2nd row seats is a noticeable loss. The dial shifter is awkward as is the Homelink in the visor. The interior is quite luxurious (not a good as a German car but good) The touch screen is very good and the various entertainment and driving aids are excellent. The 33 mile electric range (Ive actually gotten better) and the Level 2 charger covers 90% of my driving so its almost as good as a pure electric with the benefit of being able to drive long distances. And it can carry a 4x8 sheet of plywood! The combination of luxury, utility and efficiency(and eco-friendly) cant be matched by any other vehicle. If they fixed the few issues mentioned above and increased the electric range to 50+ miles this vehicle would be perfect.

I cant say anything more or less about this car. did the research and its the best. Drove it cross country and it didnt miss a beat. If you have kids, this is the car to buy.

The Pacifica Hybrid has been an amazing vehicle for us. We are averaging over 70 mpg for 10,000 miles with multiple long trips included. The car does 33 miles fully electric and then becomes a hybrid that averages over 30 mpg when discharged. It is very comfortable and has more room than a Suburban so it is very versatile. The feature package on a Limited with the advanced safety group is very comprehensive with dynamic cruise control, lane change alert and auto brake assist. While the UConnect control interface takes some getting used to it includes Apple Car Play and many more features. We have had no issues over almost a year and 10,000 miles. We routinely go over 1000 miles on a tank around town and around 500 miles when on a road trip without charging. i would never have bought a Chrysler without the availability of the plug-in hybrid and have been very pleasantly surprised with the quality and features included with this top optioned version. It is better equipped than my plug-in BMW 330e and gets almost the same fuel mileage in a much larger vehicle. My wife loves the car more than any we have ever owned and I have become a very big fan as well. The only thing I would change would be giving the driver the option of selecting fully electric mode like I can on the BMW. The car also will start the gas engine in the winter time to run the heater on short trips and you can't override that like you can on the BMW. But, overall, this is an amazingly high quality and well equipped vehicle that has reduced our carbon footprint well below the Prius that we owned previously, which is pretty amazing in itself.
